The HMI learned about my termination from the band the same way I did, through a note released on the web by T-Vice management.
I asked Roberto for a meeting this past Monday so that I could discuss my new song that was produced by Marven. During the meeting I had explained to him my preference of releasing the song under Oli Duret rather than under T-Vice because I still had not been compensated in full for my work on the previous T-Vice album which was released over a year ago.
I do understand that the market has been tough, I also need to pay the same amount of attention to my own business as they are with theirs.
Releasing the new song under T-Vice could have lead to more exposure; but due to lack of full compensation on previous work it would have been a poor business decision.
Needless to say, my meeting with Roberto was not received well by management, but that does not explain the memo accusing me of being a lead singer of another band. To make things clear, I do not have a signed contract with anyone at this moment. Therefore anything they supposedly heard were just rumors, which started since the day those musicians left.
On that note, I do have some scratch vocals on the Dat7 studio work but that’s no secret to anyone nor is my solo career. Dat7 has many other singers’ scratch vocals on other songs, which does not make them or myself the lead singer. Furthermore, I have a lot of scratch vocals with different bands and producers as OliDuret, the solo artist.
Not all separations need to contain drama, as each person maintains the right to protect what is in their own best interest. But they should be able to do so with respect. I will not entertain this drama that is developing nor will I magnify the situation.
I have had 2 stints with T-Vice full of good times, laughter, and fun as well as tough times. parting ways cannot erase the 8 years of collaboration and camaraderie that we shared. All I can say is thank you to the T-Vice team and a bigger thank you to the die-hard fans.
I will not take a break from the industry. I will continue working to please the fans and let my music do the talking.
